Not long ago we still saw him at the club – today, sadly, he is no longer among us.

His deep, resonant voice still lingers in our ears…
This spring he brought to the club many books especially dear to him, and even more spare parts – a good number of which he deliberately gave away as gifts. Perhaps he sensed, perhaps he knew, what was to come?
From time to time he would call one of us, making plans, explaining whom he would soon visit. He often shared stories of his studies in the Soviet Union, of flying, of his youth. He spoke of how he met his wife, and of the many adventures they lived through together.
It is hard to believe – yet irrevocably, he has left us. Now he has gone elsewhere, to the heavenly forests and meadows, to the ever-sunlit mountain peaks. From the edge of the clouds, legs dangling, he presses the PTT and the key, while we look up to him from below.
We will not forget.
